Ai Giannis (Monastiri)

Immediately after Kolimpithres, there is the beach of Monastiri on the peninsula of Ioannis Detis, which is part of the Paros Environmental and Cultural Park.
The beach is protected by the strong August winds – called “meltemia” – and its waters are shallow, cool and crystal clear, ideal for families and children.

There is a bar for refreshment, a restaurant and an open air cinema that are in harmony with the surrounding area.
Access to the beach is either by car or by boat from Naoussa.

There are scattered traces of a significant part of the history of the Aegean on the peninsula; the prehistoric settlement, the post-Byzantine monastery of Ai-Yannis, the Russian facilities in the Orlofic and 20th-century shipyards. The wider area has also been recognized as an important Marine Bird Area.
